New Orleans is famous for its party life and the extraordinary Mardi Gras traditions. Mardi Gras is the French word for "Fat Tuesday and carnival is the number one festival of the year for New Orleanians. My aunt is a member of such a carnival club and she showed us pictures of parades that take place throughout carnival season. She also spoke about several Mardi Gras traditions such as decorating carnival floats and throwing beads into the crowd from there.
We have also been told about the New Orleanian lifestyle. New Orleans has always been a party town, but since the devastating hurricane Katrina the motto is: "Live every day like it was your last day. I don´t really know if they are always living up to that, but when I was visiting New Orleans in 2009 I really had a good time.
If you are going to the United States one day you really should spend a few days there and you will not regret it!
